The good thing about comflict is that it will teach you a lesson and you wont make the same mistake. You shuld never leave a conflict because it will just stay there until you deal with it.

This poem definitely shows that conflict can be a positive thing in our lives. In the poem it says “Ourselves, who cannot penetrate their secret, nor even guess at the anonymous breadth, where one or two have won: (The silver reaches of the estuary).” This shows that conflict is positive because the people who go in learn something (the secret) about themselves. It also shows that getting to the end and succeeding is like reaching the best place ever. When it says “the silver” there can be many meanings. Silver can represent wisdom, a prize and something very special. After you face a conflict you would be wise, it would be like receiving a prize of achievement and it would be a very special feeling. You would want all of this. Conflict is a very positive thing in our lives.

Is not a thing to do
Do not walk away
Before considering it through
You could just stay outside
Not daring to go in
You could be plain happy

this poem teaches us that is you have a problem u should face your fear and then it will be over and if you dont face it it will just stay there until you do face it
"they will be bland and black forever". these are the people who dont face there fears and just go around them. the only way to get to the other side is to go through it and then it will be over and then at lest you will know that u were courageous and that you had no fear. also if you came to this problem or another you would know that you should just get it over with and you wont be a scard because you could say i have already done this and i can do it again.

While walking towards the path of death
Your life flashes before your eyes
You see every situation you've been in
From pure ecstasy to untold lies
And then you see yourself in conflict
Oh why oh why did you ignore
The pain that secretly creased your face
For years and years forever more
To turn from conflict and walk away
Was never the answer and now you know
That the choice you made was all wrong
It made your life sink down low
Shouldn't you have followed the path
That led to happiness instead of dread?
All of those thoughts and worries and tears
Would have never even entered your head
And then the flashback ends, it is over
So you continue your walk towards the dead
This time you know that nothing will

This quote means that the "silver" (which could be a quality that is very valuable such as courage and knowledge) reaches the estuary (which could represent the end of the conflict which is when you make the final and right decision) because it faced the challenges instead of ignoring them. In conclusion conflict can be a benifit to our lives.

Though the poem says that "By their refusal they are saved", the people that avoid the whirlpool will forever go around the outside. Conflict teaches us to make the right choices in life. Without conflict, not only would every day be boring, you would never learn how to deal with life. The poem says "Where one or two have won." That is refering to the people who entered the whirlpool and persevered enough to make it to the other side, where they will feel great about themselves and what they accomplished. They have overcome a difficult moment in their life, and they should feel proud of themselves for reaching the ocean. Conflict may seem difficult at times, but in the long run, it makes you a better person.

This poem can teach us that there is a positive side of conflict. for example when Mr. Oz talked to us about the whirlpool, he said that the person who as captured by the whirlpool saw what it was like even though it would have been a struggle to survive to tell others. The ones who are afraid to face the conflict are left behind to never face the situation. The quote that I chose from the poem is “they will be bland and black forever". What I think this means is the people who did not face the conflict are left with an imprint of wonder since they now want to see what is in the whirlpool.

I think that without conflict life would not be interesting, people wouldn't learn anything so everyone would be empty, like a frame of a person. Proof of the emptiness felt is in the line "And so their bland-blank faces turn and turn". This shows that without conflict or difficulty - they are bland, blank and non descript.

Conflict is definitely positive and the poem definitely proves this. The poem shows that conflict is just like a whirlpool if you sit on the edge trying to ignore the problem or conflict the situation will just carry on reoccurring. The situation of facing conflict and triumphing through it. The quotation “not even guess at the anonymous breadth where one or two have won” this shows that fighting through the conflict can make you a stronger person.

you ignore the opportunities and adventures of life,
